Breast Revision Surgery to Restore Your Body Image

A lot of women who have had breast surgery, either for cosmetic surgery or for reconstructive surgery, have to have it revised over time. Either because they are not satisfied with the way it looks or because it has changed. Their body has changed or time has taken a toll on the reconstruction. Revision breast surgery can be anything from removing and replacing the breast implants for cosmetic surgery or completely revising and replacing a reconstructed breast mount after mastectomy. We use the latest techniques and we combine cosmetic surgery techniques and reconstructive surgery techniques to revise a breast reconstruction or a cosmetic surgery that has had problems. This can mean removing an old implant that has ruptured and replacing it with a newer implant. It can mean repositioning an implant that has moved or is in a bad location. It can mean trying to get symmetry between two breasts that have changed over time. It can also mean completely changing a breast reconstruction from an implant reconstruction to autologous tissue or using your own tissue. What a lot of women who have had breast reconstruction don't know is that they are still a candidate for revising their reconstruction, or even changing it from one type of reconstruction, such as a breast implant, to their own tissue. Revision breast surgery is probably one of the hardest things that we do, and getting it right requires having a large armamentarium, or a large set of tools in your pocket that you can use, and sometimes that means completely revising everything, and sometimes that means just tweaking it a little bit to get it from good enough to great.
