DIEP Flap (natural tissue) Breast Reconstruction: Case 8 - 'Scarless' DIEP flap breast reconstruction and nipple reconstruction after double mastectomy
Description
This patient underwent a double mastectomy and DIEP flap breast reconstruction followed by nipple reconstruction. All of the breast scars are hidden under the reconstructed nipple and cannot be seen giving the appearance of a 'scarless' surgery which not even the most discriminating eye can identify. She has an improved abdominal contour and waistline giving her the look of a cosmetic tummy tuck and breast lift. Notice how the abdominal scar is low (and can't be seen) so that it can hidden by underwear or a bathing suit. A high scar is a common complaint of many woman who have had this procedure with other surgeons.
