DIEP Flap (natural tissue) Breast Reconstruction: Case 7 - DEIP flap (natural tissue) breast reconstruction after breast implant removal and double mastectomy
Description
This patient required prophylactic or preventative double mastectomy. She previously had breast implants but was unsatisfied with their appearance and wanted to be smaller. The DIEP flap natrual tissue breast reconstruction allowed her to achieve a result that looks, feels and moves like natural breast tissue and lasts forever unlike breast implants that need to be changed. The result after nipple sparing mastectomy and removal of her implants was a smaller, lifted and beautiful result that cannot be distinguished from a natural breast. She also has an improved abdominal contour or waistline. Notice how the scar on her belly is kept low so that it can be hidden by her underwear or bathing suit just like it would be in a tummy tuck. A high scar is a common complaint of many woman who have had a DIEP flap procedure with other surgeons.
