Background & Training

Dr. Lerman completed his residency in general surgery and then plastic surgery at the prestigious Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at NYU Medical Center. He received his cosmetic surgery training at the Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. To complete his advanced training, he underwent an additional surgical fellowship in Microvascular Surgery and Breast Reconstruction at the University of Pennsylvania.

Since 2001, Dr. Lerman has authored over 40 original articles, abstracts, and book chapters. He also lectures regularly on plastic and reconstructive surgery, trains residents and medical students, and has operating privileges at numerous hospitals in Manhattan and the New York metropolitan area. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is the President Elect of the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons. He also has numerous memberships at national organizations including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
