How Dermal Fillers Work

The dermal fillers we offer are composed of naturally-derived hyaluronic acid (HA) that are injected into the skin to add volume. By plumping up the treatment area, skin depressions of various types, such as wrinkles and folds, are filled in for a smoother look.

Dermal fillers help diminish facial scarring, wrinkles, and creases to dramatically enhance facial contours.

Dermal fillers offer a wide range of applications, from diminishing facial scarring, wrinkles, and creases, to enhancing facial contours and improving the curvature of the lips. Each filler we offer has unique properties that address specific cosmetic concerns, allowing for highly individualized treatment plans. Dermal fillers are fantastic standalone treatments, but may be combined with other nonsurgical facial treatments or cosmetic facial surgery for dynamic results.

The Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid

Since HA fillers are naturally-occurring, they carry a reduced risk of allergic reaction. Patients will be able to enjoy their treatment results immediately. However, results will last months, not years. After about six months, the bio-compatible filler will begin to break down, requiring most patients to return within one year of their treatment to help maintain their results. Dermal fillers may be used to:

  • Fill in deep creases that run from the nose to the mouth, or mouth to chin
  • Plump up thin lips
  • Minimize small vertical lines around the lips
  • Lift and enhance the shape and fullness of the cheeks

JUVÉDERM® XC

This dermal filler is designed to reduce lines around the mouth and nose. JUVÉDERM® XC can smooth lines that run from the sides of your nose toward the corner of your mouth, also known as the nasolabial folds. JUVÉDERM® XC can also mitigate the appearance of vertical lip lines, as well as marionette lines, the lines that run from the corners of your mouth down toward the chin.

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC was the first FDA-approved HA gel available formulated to deliver youthful volume along the cheeks. The filler is applied in the mid-facial region to create lift and augment curvature for youthful cheek volume and positioning.

Restylane®

Designed to increase the firmness and volume of your skin, Restylane® works by attracting and binding moisture. Restylane® skin can appear more even and supple because of its ability to fill in the space between the elastin fibers and collagen. Restylane® is also FDA-approved for lip enhancement, allowing patients to achieve a fuller pout. Restylane® has been approved for use in the United States for about 20 years, and even longer in Europe.
